Austin Deemed a Top Tax Procrastinator

We always wanted Austin to share the company of cities like San Francisco and New York, right? And we always like to beat Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

Well, success! Austin garnered spot #6 in TurboTax's list of cities whose citizens wait until the last minute (or later) to file their taxes. (Or at least who wait until the last two weeks before Tax Day to file through TurboTax's electronic service.)

The ranking doesn't say how many Austinites procrastinate, but it's somewhere below Seattle's 30%.

Austin fell from last year's number 4 spot, but that can't be because of all new the Californians in town (San Francisco: #1, LA: #4) or the New Yorkers (#2) who have moved here.

Get ready for a Pop-Culture-Palooza this weekend! We have a premier party for the return of Doctor Who, a premier party for the return of Game of Thrones, and a chance to pitch in and help build the only 1:1 replica Star Wars Starfighter in America. Along the way, there’s also LARPing, gaming, and plenty of other geeky get togethers.

Somewhere in Austin
