Bang the Table - and Get Involved in the Austin Climate Conversation
A new online forum has just launched, with the goal of facilitating better community input, regarding how Austinites can lead on climate protection.
It's called BangtheTable.com/austinclimate and it's about your sharing ideas.
The site is in beta form, but already features some skeletal FAQs, surveys, photos, an info library and other related stuff. Here's a report from KUT.org on the site. Come one, come all --
##
Special Note to Climate Deniers -- Your input is welcome too, of course, but note the City currently supports and essentially defines climate protection as:
-
less pollution
-
more green jobs
-
more energy & water conservation
-
zero waste
-
less sprawl
-
more land/water/wildlife preservation & restoration
-
ecological sustainability -- for all, for Austin's future.
Special Personal Thanks -- to folks like Larry Schooler, Amy Everhardt and the Austin Climate Protection Program team for getting this thing moving...yes, more citizen engagement in local governance please...bang the table!
