Council Candidates Grilled at Paramount Forum Tonight

Candidate forums have begun in those upcoming Austin City Council elections, but it's easy to miss them if you're not on the right mailing list.

Heads up for tonight, however, because numerous art organizations have invited the public to come check out a candidate forum at the Paramount Theater on Congress Avenue. The Paramount, the Austin Symphony, the Blanton, the Austin Film Society and The Greater Austin Creative Alliance are all listed among the organizers.

Evan Smith - of Texas Tribune fame - will be moderating the forum which will cover issues "including those affecting the Creative Class."

Doors open at 6 p.m. tonight, with the forum to start at 7 p.m. There is free parking at One American Center, 600 Congress Avenue.

Get ready for a Pop-Culture-Palooza this weekend! We have a premier party for the return of Doctor Who, a premier party for the return of Game of Thrones, and a chance to pitch in and help build the only 1:1 replica Star Wars Starfighter in America. Along the way, there’s also LARPing, gaming, and plenty of other geeky get togethers.
