This might not be the best time to sell your iPhone on Craigslist. The Austin Police Department is investigating four robberies in the last couple months that happen like this:

1. You put an add for your iPhone on Craigslist
2. Someone calls you and arranges a meeting
3. You decide it’s a good idea to meet this person between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. in a parking lot.
4. This person gets you into an isolated area and then robs you, using weapons and physical force

The APD encourages you to arrange these meetings in public places during the day, and bring a friend (or five) with you. Try to get some info on the person you’re meeting beforehand, too.
