Can’t Miss During SXSW: Broken Bells

Anyone who has been in my car lately knows Broken Bells.

It's the amazing new duo featuring Brian Burton, a.k.a. Danger Mouse and James Mercer, lead singer of The Shins.

And what a lovely combination it is…their big hit right now is “The High Road,” which first graced my ears on my favorite local radio show, Music with Jay Trachtenberg. I recognized Mercer’s voice right away, and loved how the electronic sound surrounded it. So catchy, you’ll be singing it for weeks – trust me.

 You’ve got two chances to see Broken Bells live during SXSW:

• Wednesday, March 17 @ Stubb’s for the NPR Music Showcase (with Spoon and the Walkmen, yeeeeeah!)
• Friday, March 19 @ Lustre Pearl for the Dickies Official Showcase

 I recommend you make at least one of them, and consider yourself warned about having “The High Road” running through your head FOREVER.
