Free Legal Clinic for Austin Artists

UT Law Students For The Arts cosponsor free legal clinic for local artists

Unique collaboration pairs law students and volunteer attorneys

The University of Texas School of Law’s Law Students For The Arts organization will offer its second free legal clinic for low-income artists on Thursday, March 31st, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the offices of Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P., 600 Congress Ave., #2400.

Volunteer attorneys will provide free legal advice, on arts-related legal matters to Austin artists. Attendees will be seen by appointment and can expect to spend up to thirty minutes receiving advice from an attorney. Topics discussed may include copyright, trademark, contract, and any other legal issue related to the arts. Law students will assist artists in completing intake paperwork and clarifying the legal issue for which artists need advice.  Walk-ins are welcome, space permitting.

For an application or more information about participating in the clinic, email Megan Dagerman, Law Students for the Arts President at artslawclinic@gmail.com

Get ready for a Pop-Culture-Palooza this weekend! We have a premier party for the return of Doctor Who, a premier party for the return of Game of Thrones, and a chance to pitch in and help build the only 1:1 replica Star Wars Starfighter in America. Along the way, there’s also LARPing, gaming, and plenty of other geeky get togethers.
