Texas Country fans rejoice -- the Josh Abbott Band has two free concerts coming up in or near the Austin area. Both on Thursday, July 29, and Wednesday, August 4, you can hear the guys play their true Texas act.
This Thursday in Belton (about an hour outside of Austin), you can see the Josh Abbott Band play at Schoepf’s Old Time BBQ for their free music series. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Then on Wednesday, August 4, the Josh Abbott Band is a little closer to home for us, playing for the KVET Free Texas Music Series free music series at Hill’s Café located at 4700 South Congress Avenue. Door opens at 6:30 p.m.
The band consists of singer Josh Abbott on acoustic guitar, Preston Wait on fiddle and electric guitar, Edward Villanueva on drums, Daniel Almodova on bass, and Gabe Hanson on electric guitar. The Josh Abbott Band started in 2006 while at Texas Tech University. Their latest album, “She’s Like Texas,” debuted at No.28 on the Billboard top country chart. Mainly the Josh Abbott Band plays all across Texas, however they have upcoming shows in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Kansas this August.
Plus, for those truly unfamiliar with the Josh Abbott Band, what’s a better chance to get familiar with their sound than seeing them free! You’ll get hooked.
