Lighting up Lady Bird Lake

Let's face it, it's about to get insanely hot. It's a lot easier to run early in the morning or at night during an Austin summer, but you can't look cool running if you trip and fall.

Thankfully, the Austin City Council approved the installation of trail lighting on certain areas of the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike trail.

In 18 spots considered “trip hazards,” the city will install lights that are designed to improve safety without looking hideous.

You can see a map of the lights here: http://www.cityofaustin.org/council_meetings/wams_item_attach.cfm?recordID=22688
