Point and Shoot

The UT Chapter of the National Press Photographers Association is holding it’s annual spring event, The Picture Show, at Midtown Commons (810 W St. John’s Ave.) in Austin on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m.

Some works will be auctioned off, while others will be available for purchase at a price of $50 each. The Picture Show is also providing refreshments free for the taking. You can win some photography related prizes in the raffle, too.

According to the National Press Photographers Association, the student chapter of the organization “shares the mission of our national organization, which is dedicated to the advancement of visual journalism, its creation, practice, training, editing and distribution, in all news media and works to promote its role as a vital public service" and The Picture Show is part of that mission.

I happen to know one of the photographer’s work that’s going to be on display at The Picture Show and know his work to truly be quite exceptional. If the other photographers’ work on display is anything like his, there will be  some extremely good work to see - and maybe even to decorate your walls.
