Austin Food Bloggers Post New City Guide in Time for SXSW
I’m always looking for new guides to trailer food in Austin for my trailer reviews, so I was happy to see three popular local trailer food bloggers post guides to Downtown, East Austin and South Austin trailers. Then I saw that they were part of the Austin Food Blogger Alliance’s bigger 2012 City Guide to Food Blogger Faves.
And it’s all just in time for SXSW, so newcomers and Austinites alike can get their fixes for just about anything – TexMex breakfast? There’s a post for that. Restaurants that locally source? There’s a post for that. Date spots, spots that cater to dietary restrictions, out of town BBQ spots and wineries and guides to finding the best Indian, French, Korean and Italian food.
Some of these guides are just top five lists, but the trailer food guides in particular are pretty comprehensive.
Austin Food Carts blog has the downtown trailer scene pretty well covered with perennial favorites like Chi’Lantro and Peached Tortilla as well as very recent newcomer Yume Burger.
Trailer Food Diaries lists her favorites on the East Side, from Spartan pizza to Via 313 and from East Side King to Purple Bean.
South Austin Foodie Adventures takes the guide to the south side, and gets a special shout out for being what looks like the most comprehensive blogger, with lots of entries that remind me why cruising down Congress, South First or South Lamar can end in my pulling off the road when I see a trailer food favorite (read: Wasota, Bella Cucina and The Original New Orleans Po-Boy and Gumbo Shop, for example.)
