Journey ECL1PS3 Tour in Austin (PHOTOS)

Journey, with new front man Arnel Pineda, performed Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Night Ranger and Foreigner opened. To my surprise the only original Foreigner band member, Mick Jones, was absent form the stage.

Once Journey took the stage, Pineda burst on the stage and never again stood still for one moment. His nonstop running and jumping was exhausting to watch and distracting from the songs. Founding band member Neal Schon on guitar was fantastic, as if time has stood still and it was 1978. Ross Valory, also an original band member, seemed to truly enjoy the show as he played a rock solid bass line on "Separate Ways," "Ask The Lonely" and "Send Her My Love," the first three songs for which I was allowed to stay as photographer.
