Tribeza STYLEWEEK 2009 : Day 3 Fashion Street Party
Note: Tribeza Styleweek 2009 Day 3 of 3 continues from the colours marie blog site.

The third and final day of Styleweek 2009 I managed to finally hit the rhythm that works for the 12 + hour days it requires for a full time job and a fashion blog. I was running late (fashionably of course) and missed any commotion over at the Neimen Marcus VIP party. I did manage to stop by in time for a much-needed cucumber 'tini and a preview of the fall jewelry, leather goods, and the premium lines of skin care.
After a tour of the downstair, I decided to explore the rest of the Domain complex to seek out the rumored talent of Akina Adderley & the Vintage Playboys. [EDIT: Akina sent a message recently saying that her portion of the show was cancelled due to the unexpected rain. A rescheduled event will be on Nov. 5th 2009 at the Domain.] The unidentified group sang a mix of old country and classic hits. This group can really put on a good show. The hair, the talent, and the glamour that they infused into the evening was worth taking a break to watch a few of their numbers.
Madewell was packed, aside from the girls giving the crowd a full on performance, the store itself was buzzing with the latest in fall fashions. Metal chains and glass in a variety of styles and lengths are this season's accessory "must-have." These were especially eye catching as chandelier-like baubles playfully worn around the neck. Annie, one of the photographers we met the night before, was shooting away asking all of her subjects to "give it to her." Madewell was handing out champagne flutes like they were going out of style, so it wasn't very difficult to coax out some extra personality. My chosen accessory, the pashmina, was fair game as she asked for a "little whirl." Rest assured that those photos were not chosen to represent Tribeza.
Moving forward still into the street party I found myself at the local J.Crew. Again with the super feminine take on chains, these paired with another fall favorite, pearls. This rose-hued version is a perfect element to add warmth and color to jeans + t-shirt that is needing that extra something. I absolutely loved the display with the "shootie," a personal favorite for the season as well. Every close toed pair of black heels that I own are all suede or these puppies would have gone home with me. Perfect for the tailored pleated pant or skinny dark washed denim, ankle shooties scream "in the now" without looking too trendy. This look is going to stay around for a few seasons and now is the time to buy it.
Equally as impressive was the collaborative collection between Timex and J. Crew in the men's shop. Inspired by a vintage style no longer available, this watch features interchangeable bands for days when it just seems right to wear orange. The smart styling of the face allows for the freedom of fun color and patterns for the modern gentleman.
Timeless and classic, this piece is perfect for the utilitarian that would benefit from a little pizzaz in their life. Ladies, feel free to partake in this look. A spin off from the oversized watch, this military classic is a perfect piece to mix in with the inspired mens tailoring that is so prevalent in womens wear today.
Tribeza STYLEWEEK 2009 was a beautifully coordinated series of events. The fashion show at the Long Center (congratulations Mr. Holdaway), the Downtown Openhouse (bravo to all of the small boutique owners), the Domain Street Party (& those great singers from Zach Theatre) and the weather. For three straight days it felt like fall in a big city - of course, with a little twist.
